Happy Friday, friends! I hope it’s been a great week for you. I feel like yesterday was Halloween and now here we are and it’s Friday. We got spoiled with a few 70 degree days and you better believe we took full advantage of it. It felt like this whole week was full of costumes and birthday celebrations but I loved every minute of it.
I kind of miss watching the world series but at least I’ll be getting to bed earlier (hopefully). My brother is out in Chicago so while I’m not a huge Cubs fan they were the team I was routing for. He was in the city when they won and it was definitely an experience to be apart of.
We’re continuing with the birthday celebrations since Eric’s birthday is this weekend. I’ll be treating him to a day in Brooklyn and we’re hoping to hit up the Brooklyn Brewery, the bridge, grab something to eat, maybe do a little shopping, and whatever else comes our way. The possibilities are endless when you have a babysitter for the day. Anyone have any recommendations of places to check out?
Here’s a look at some of my favorites from the week…
1. Fall leaves: when I think back to fall one of my fondest memories is raking a big old pile of leaves and jumping in it. The best was if you could get a pile going around a swing, and then swing as high as you could go, and then jump off into it. Ahhh to be a kid again. Thankfully my nuggets let me act like a big kid with them so how could a leaf pile not happen. Little nugget was so content in that swing watching his brother before he decided to join in on the fun.
2. Halloween: like I mentioned we’re kids at heart, so coordinating a family costume will happen until the nuggets become too cool for us (never, I’m hoping never). If you missed our Winnie The Pooh and friends family costumes you can read more about our fun {here}.
3. Halloween party: speaking of costumes, we went to a party last weekend with some of our favorite friends. Every year our friend has this awesome party where she out does herself every year. This year she even had a custom step and repeat made. And how could you resist a picture in front of that?! Eric and I looked ridiculous in our costumes without the kids but I didn’t have the time or energy to think of something else to wear. Someone asked us if I was Peppa Pig and Eric was Caillou (clearly they have kids) and I could kind of see where the confusion lies. Once we explained I was Piglet and he was Christopher Robin (hello the red balloon 😉 it all made sense.
4. Grandpop’s 90th: my Grandpop’s party was a really nice time and it’s always great when we can get together with family. He’s a particular man that’s used to his schedules but I think he was overall happy and very thankful everyone was there to celebrate. I love seeing him with my nuggets and them being able to experience memories with their Great Grandpop.
Sunday brunch: we also celebrated my beautiful sister’s birthday with the perfect afternoon brunch. We enjoyed some delicious food, amazing views, and great company. You can read more about our afternoon {here}.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Be sure to check out where I’m linking and join in on the fun.
