Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. If anything, it was truly an eventful and historic week which seemed to fly by but also felt slow filled with so many feelings and thoughts. After staying up late to try and see the results of the election I felt like I never really got caught up on my sleep. I’m not one to engage in political conversations but I will say the bad mouthing and tearing each other down that I’ve read on so many social media accounts is really upsetting. On the other hand, I’m really happy to see my blogging community continue to carry on with business as usual and continue to be a support to one another’s blogs. Keep rocking, ladies!
Like every weekend I’m looking forward to this one. We have a black tie banquet we are attending at our church tonight and then we are headed to a tricky tray tomorrow. We’re hoping to come home with some fun prizes…we shall see. Oh! And how could I forget? We’re attempting to take our Christmas card pictures this weekend. In case you missed my post yesterday {read more here} I shared some of our past cards and tips. Wish me luck and lets see how they come out.
Here’s a look at some of my favorites from this week…
1. Brooklyn: if you’re a frequent reader you might have seen some of this already but I just can’t help including them in my favorites. Eric and I had a great time visiting Brooklyn to celebrate his birthday. We walked the bridge, visited the Brooklyn Brewery, you can read all about our day {here}.
2. Street art: speaking of Brooklyn I’m still obsessing over all the fun and amazing street art we saw. Bright colors just put me in a better mood. You can read more about it {here}.
3. Recipe: we made {this} spinach artichoke spaghetti squash boats with chicken and seriously it was just as amazing as it looks. I love spaghetti squash and this combo with the spinach and chicken took it to a whole other level. It’s such a great alternative to pasta but the downside is it is a little time consuming to make.
4. Favorite purchase: I made a stop off at Ulta on my lunch break one day and picked up {this} Bare Minerals matte liquid lip color. I knew I wanted something matte and in general I usually like the application of a liquid lip color as apposed to a stick. After trying it out in the store I decided on the color wink, and so far I’m really happy with it.
5. All the leaves: my little nuggets have been all about the leaves. Every morning they go outside and hunt for leaves. I also likes to just randomly dive into them even if they aren’t in a pile…see I caught him in the act. I’ve been so worried about a mess happening because, well we have a dog, he goes to the bathroom outside, and the leaves cover everything up. Lord help me.
We did a leaf project with them that kind of turned into more like leaves all over the page. But they had fun and there were no tears so it was still a success. If you’re looking for something more creative Lizzie did a cute fall turkey leaf project with her daughter that you should check out.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Be sure to check out these other great bloggers and where I’m linking for more fun.
