Inside Buddakan where Carrie’s rehearsal dinner took place
Just hanging out near Carrie Bradshaw’s stoop
Happy Monday, friends! I’m usually so much better with having my posts planned out and ready to go, but it’s Monday and the struggle is real today. You might remember that I mentioned on my Friday Favorites that I was headed to NYC for one of my best friends bachelorette parties. I say parties because she’s also having another one in a few weeks that will be a wine tour and a night out in Philly. We’re just taking these cities by storm π
Since we had such a great time and there are so many fun pictures to share, I figured it needed a post of its own.
Ok, let’s start from the beginning. My friends took a limo from where they live and since I’m an hour and half away the limo met us at pick up point and I hopped in with them for the remaining ride into the city.
The limo driver dropped us off around the corner (we still aren’t exactly sure why) from our hotel and after a few drinks we thought we could conquer the world and told him we would just walk to our hotel. Not the smartest idea lugging all of our things and a case of champagne down the street.
We stayed at the Renaissance New York Hotel 57 and as soon as the doorman saw us struggling he came to our rescue. Overall the hotel was really nice but I didn’t sleep that great and still have a bit of a stiff neck. It probably didn’t help that we were jumping on the beds…shhhh don’t tell them.
After we checked in we headed to a Sex and the City tour which was a lot of fun and the weather was so beautiful. We all had matching shirts and it was so nice to see some of the landmarks from the show and explore the different neighborhoods in the city.
After the tour we relaxed for a while and then got ready for the night. We were headed to Lips and the bride wanted all of us in fun colored wigs and black dresses. I went with a short blue wig because I’ve never seen myself with short hair before and I have to say I really liked it! I don’t think I could pull it off all the time because I really do like having long hair, but once I put this wig on I kind of had a different attitude and felt a little fierce. A few people told me I reminded them of Bethenny Frankel and now I can kind of see where she might get some of her sass from. Hair might have that effect on you.
After the show we decided to grab some drinks at a local Irish Pub that was playing some of the best throwback music. I’m talking a mashup of Spice Girls, Britney Spears, NSYNC, and BSB. Our inner high school girls definitely came out.
The next morning we slowly got ourselves together to head to brunch in Greenwich Village. We ate at The Malt House which was so cute inside that I could have stayed there forever. I got the open faced fried chicken and waffles blt sandwich which I devoured. They also had bottomless brunch cocktails for only $15. Thankfully the limo was picking us up right from brunch and then it was back home to reality.
It was such a fun weekend together with some of my favorite girls and the most important part was the bride to be had a great time! Now on to round two in the next city.
Linking with Biana today and wishing I was still weekending.
