I still can’t believe my little nugget is now two. Time, I would be totally fine if you went just a little slower. We had such a fun weekend celebrating our little love and spending time with our friends and family. Thank you so much to everyone who was wishing those rain clouds away for us because the day turned out to be overcast and the rain held out. We were still able to have everything outside and enjoy all the outdoor fun. The sun did peek through a few times and boy was it hot when it did. I was actually thankful it wasn’t beating down on us all day.
Last weekend I took a few pictures of little nugget at one of his favorite places, the beach. If you’ve been reading along then you’ve seen some of our beach pictures and might have noticed that little nugget always has his shovel or net in hand. It was the perfect little setting so capture his favorite summer things, and you guys, he did so good for me. He sat there and smiled, asked if he could dig in the sand, and then said mommy, take a picture! I jump up and down. I mean melt my heart and can I squeeze him forever.
He is obsessed with anything and everything that has to do with balls so I thought it would be cute to do a beach ball themed party. I got these cute beach ball sippy cups, beach ball cupcake toppers, and had over 20 beach balls floating around the pool. We had water balloons for the kids that they couldn’t get enough of and my mom surprised him with a bounce house which was a huge hit.
You all know how much I love my pictures, so when I came across this popsicle garland I thought it would be super cute to turn it into a photo backdrop and get some silly props for everyone to take pictures with. I’m so happy it was a hit because we all had fun snapping some silly pictures. The best part was both A and little nugget loved using the goofy glasses and big lips.
To my little nugget, there is something so special about you that I cannot get enough of your sweet, sweet personality. When you stop to ask me for a kiss I will drop everything to get one from you and I love how you like to pick out a spot on my cheek to make sure you kiss just the right spot. I can’t deny that I secretly love how clingy you are to me right now. I can’t help but smile when you stop anyone who tries to help you and say, no not you, mommy do it. You are talking so much now and your little voice is like music to my ears. I love how you try to pronounce anything and everything and if you aren’t sure about something you will ask, what’s that. I can’t thank you enough for being ambitious and for going on the potty since you were 18 months, even if I think you’re purposely doing it some nights just so you can stay up a little bit longer. I’m pretty sure you’ll fully be in big boy pants very soon. You want to do everything your older brother does and have no problem voicing your opinion if you aren’t getting your way. We’re still working on sharing and keeping your hands to yourself, but sometimes I have to stop and remind myself just how old you really are and that you still have so much to learn. The world is ahead of you my little love. I pray God’s continued blessings over your life and that His love will shine through you as an example for others to see. You can do anything you put your little mind to and I will do my best to guide you in the right direction through this journey. We all love you more than you will ever know <3
