Happy Friday, friends! I hope everyone had a great week. It’s definitely feeling like fall around here and our temperatures are supposed to go below freezing this weekend. Being cold is one of my least favorite things but getting cozy and snuggling up with nuggets makes it worth it. It’s crazy how other areas are already getting snow and some are still hanging out on the beach. It’s funny to see everyone’s experiences and take on the weather. And seriously, daylight savings is not helping anything. It’s so sad, by the time I get out of work it is pitch black. Oh spring how I’m already longing for you.
Here’s a look at some of my favorites from the week…
Crayola Experience: we finally got to visit the Crayola Experience and had such a good time. It was only about an hour from us in PA and it was the perfect activity to do indoors while the temperature is getting cooler. They had a lot of things for the kids to see and do there. Some of the boys favorite activities were melting crayons, making their own crayon mold, coloring and making their own puzzle, and of course letting off some steam in the play area.
2. Birthdays: we also got to celebrate my sister and Eric’s birthday this week. Their birthdays are only 4 days apart and we had a good time spoiling them and having them feel special. My brother and I were there with my sister to celebrate but we were missing our two other brothers. Eric and I got to sneak away for a birthday dinner for him, and if you caught my insta stories, you might have seen the boys singing the cutest version of happy birthday to him. I have to share my favorite picture of them because I just can’t get enough.
3. New camera: after years with my beloved dslr, it decided that the shutter was just not going to work anymore. I had a minor panic attack for a second but also realize I am an avid picture taker and use it a lot which puts wear and tear on it. Of course when I took it to our local camera shop to get looked at, they said that a shutter will usually last about three years or so, and wouldn’t you know, that’s where mine was at. I really think these manufactures know what they’re doing when they make these things. Just like cell phones, they magically stop working around two years.
Anyway, I knew I wanted to upgrade my camera and break away from the rebel family so I went with the EOS 77D. It was between that and the EOS 80D. After some research and a lot of thought, the 77D being newer and having a higher ISO, a smaller body style so I can still carry it around in my bag, and better price point ended up selling me. I already have several different lenses so thankfully I only needed the body. I’m still a big believer that it’s not necessarily the gear you have but the person behind the camera and how you edit your pictures that makes the difference. I am really excited to see all of the adventures we’ll be capturing with it.
4. Favorite fall activities: I know a lot of us are in the holiday spirit but it’s still November and we have a another great holiday coming up and still fun activities to do. In case you missed our girl chat link up yesterday, it’s a monthly link up where we share a post related to a topic. If you haven’t guessed it, this month was our favorite fall activity/activities. We’d love for you to join us next month when we share more about the greatest gift we ever received.
5. Christmas PJs (Affiliate links listed): this year we’ll be taking the boys on the Polar Express with a few of our friends and their kids. One of the things we are excited about is wearing our PJs on the train ride. Last year we did these matching family PJs that we used for our Christmas cards. This year both boys have out grown theirs and I was hoping to just order a similar pattern so Eric and I could wear ours again. I ended up looking online and came across these cute buffalo plaid polar bear ones and decided to change my mind. A bit cheesy, of course, kind of genius to wear a polar bear on the polar express, maybe. Even though the story doesn’t have much to do with bears, I at least thought it was kind of clever 😉
