The Best Time To Be a Kid With Gymboree

Gymboree

Thank you Gymboree for sponsoring this post. All opinion remains my own.

I think many of us can agree there is something so special about this time of year. From the lights, to the decorations, to the baking, the warm fires, the gift giving—I want my boys to experience all the fun. What I didn’t realize before I had kids, was just how fun and magical this time of year really can be.

Around here family traditions are a big thing for us, and every year we’ve enjoyed incorporating some new ones into the mix. This year, in addition to our main Christmas tree, A and little nugget wanted their own special trees. We thought it was a great idea and could be the perfect way to add some festive fun to their rooms.

When they found out they would each have their own little trees to decorate they were so excited and couldn’t wait to get started. If you were to come over while we are decorating, you would hear holiday music playing and all of us having fun singing along. The boys have been practicing for their school concert so they can belt out some tunes to Jingle Bells.

I loved seeing how happy they were decorating their own little space and seeing their silly personalities come out. When the boys were done with their trees, we asked them why they thought the holidays where the best time to be a kid? A said because he gets to open up all the presents and watch all the Christmas movies. We might have already watched Frosty and The Grinch  about 15 times and we’re just into the beginning of December. When we asked little nugget what he thought, he said because he gets to eat all the marshmallows. Seriously, I could just eat both of them up.

While we were asking them what they thought, the music was still playing and Santa Baby came on. They both thought it was the funniest thing and started cracking up saying, Santa baby, why are they calling Santa a baby? We couldn’t help but laugh because they still take things so literal and it’s the cutest thing. The best part in all of this is how experiencing the joys of the holidays with them brings out the kid in both Eric and I as well.

I love dressing the boys in festive outfits during this time of year but I also like to keep in mind the practical wear they’ll get out of them. I loved these fun tees from Gymboree that can be worn all winter long but still have a holiday feel to them. Since our winters can get really cold here, I love how they have fleece lined pants that will help keep the boys extra warm. The boys also had a lot of fun picking out their accessories and both couldn’t wait to try on their boots. A also thought his scarf with the cheese burgers and pizza on it was the coolest thing ever. Seriously, how cute is that?! And little nugget might be taking after his mama’s love for wearing a beanie.
