Happy Friday, friends! I hope everyone had a great week. I just wanted to say a big thank to all of you who left me sweet comments and wishes for me to get better last week. I’m sorry I didn’t respond to everyone but sometimes life happens and this little space just needs to take a back burner. I truly appreciate all of you who take time out of your day to visit my blog. You all are the best!

Speaking of last week, as if being sick wasn’t enough, the weirdest fluke thing happened to me on Friday. I was at work reading an email and all of the sudden it felt like a piece of sand went into my eye. I blinked and then couldn’t open my eye because it hurt so bad. Long story short, after being driven to urgent care I somehow got a scratch on my eye. You guys, it hurt so bad! It felt like I had a paper cut on my eye. I’m still on eye drops and it’s 100 times better now, but what a mess. I had to leave work early, be driven around, wore a patch, and ended up with a huge headache from straining my other eye. I’m not superstitious at all but Friday the 13th got me this time. It’s not that we deliberately take things for granted but I don’t think I’ve ever been so thankful for my eyesight as I have in the past week.
Here’s a look at some of my favorites…
1. Race for Hope: we’ve been participating in this local walk ever since A was a few weeks old. Our church holds it every year to raise money for local families in need to provide Thanksgiving meals and groceries. One of my favorite things about this event it that it’s so geared towards families participating. They have a 5k that a lot of people run in or a 1 mile fun run/walk. It’s so important to us to try and teach the boys about giving back and helping those in need.

2. Homecoming: we always loving going back to our colleges and bringing the kids for homecoming events. I’ve seemed to have missed mine the past few years because it always falls on the same weekend as A’s birthday, but this year we were around to stop by Eric’s. It was a lot of fun and they had a separate area setup just for kids with bounce houses, little games, a photo booth, and a balloon artist. Wouldn’t you know A requested for her to make him Rudolph.  He’s already in the Christmas spirit! And speaking of Christmas, it wasn’t intentional but I came across some deals at the Disney store and picked up a few things for the boys to stash away. I got bit buy the shopping bug and also picked up a bunch of things that I found at Marshalls. I’m sure majority of the rest of my shopping will be done online but I do have a designated area in my closet now for gifts and it feels really good to have a head start.

3. Jack O lanterns: last year we went to a jack o lantern event in upstate NY that was a lot of fun. We wanted to get together with some of our friends for it this year but unfortunately the weekends sold out in a matter of minutes. They had something similar in Philly this year so we decided to go to that. It was a lot of fun and the boys enjoyed it but I will say I think the one in NY was better. It was the same concept and still really cool to check out though and it’s always nice to see some of my best girls.

4. All dressed up: A was so determined to get himself dressed on Sunday before we headed to church and I could not have loved the outfit he picked out anymore. Seriously guys, that bow tie! I was like, can we just stop and take our Christmas pictures right now.

5. Giveaway: you might remember the post I did when I shared the messy truth about my house, unfortunately laundry and I still don’t get along, but using Grab Green’s 3-in-1 laundry detergent pods has made things less painful. I like using them so much that I’ve teamed up with them again to give some away to one lucky winner. Since we all know sharing is caring, if you head to my instagram (@beautifully_candid) to enter—if you win then the friend you tag will also win too! This giveaway ends tonight so don’t forget to enter. Grab Green has also been awesome and is providing my readers free shipping on orders of $30 or more with code BeautifullyFree.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Here’s where you can find me linking for all of the link up fun.
