Happy Friday, friends! I hope it’s been a great one for you. We’ve had a lot going on over here, but all good, and hot things. We are at the beach for a long weekend and are so excited to be back to our happy place. So for now, I’m going to just jump into my favorites and we can talk more there.
Give Me That Summer Feeling:
I mentioned on my instagram (@beautifully_candid) that this is the first summer I’ve had the opportunity to be at home with the boys. I am so excited! And also a little nervous, mainly about keeping them occupied. All of you who commented over on my post gave me some great ideas for things to do with them. Feel free to leave some here as well if you missed my post over there. Right now is just not ideal for me to pursue my professional career and my family is my main focus. It really doesn’t make sense for me to go back until after the baby has his other two surgeries. Bring on all the summer days, homemade popsicles, water fun, and here’s to praying the arguing between the boys is to a minimum.
Graduation:
Ahhhh! I can’t believe A graduated pre-school this week. How did he go from my sweet little baby to him wearing a cap and gown? I could not be more proud of him! He’s had a big year of transitions from moving, going to a new school, making new friends, and being out of his element. He is a creature of habit so I know this didn’t come easy for him, but he managed so well. I know I’ve mentioned on here before that he misses the cutoff date to start school by two days. At first we weren’t sure what we were going to do about the whole thing. We thought about fighting it or trying to send him to private school to push him through, but ultimately we are comfortable with our decision in allowing him to enter kindergarten this year and be a little older in his grade. I know that he will rock this upcoming school year and continue to amaze all of us.
Guess Who’s Gaining Weight:
You guys, I am so excited! If you’ve been following along for awhile then you know the struggle has been real for baby C with his cleft journey to gain weight. It’s been a little over two weeks since he had his first lip surgery and typically they said that babies tend to lose weight after. Well wouldn’t you know, baby C gained almost two pounds in two weeks!! We were all amazed and so proud of him. He’s finally almost on the charts now and his pediatrician has been the sweetest and joked around about how they’re going to throw him a party once he gets there. We are all in love with his extra squishiness and can’t get enough of it.
The Difficulties of Motherhood:
in case you missed it this week I shared some feelings that were weighing heavy on my mama heart. When the baby had his surgery it also happened to be a day where my oldest son needed me too. Not being able to be two places at once was so hard for me and really got me thinking of some realities that we could face.

I just want to take a quick minute to thank all of you who click on my links and shop through them. It means a lot to me that you care about the products I’m sharing and it also helps me gage better what all of you like as well. Since we’re at the beach I thought it would be fun to share some fun beach finds mixed in with some last minute things for the 4th of July. You all seemed to really love this straw beach tote from last week because that was the big seller for the week. I also love this backpack cooler because we all know we need as many free hands (especially with kids) to carry all the other things that make their way to the beach with us. I also love a nice plush beach towel and these hooded ones (currently on sale) are so fun for the boys. I’m thinking about getting this fun watermelon round towel that would be great for a few of us to layout on. This flag kimono is so cute and perfect for the upcoming holiday. I love a light kimono in the summer because they are so versatile and I also like wearing them as a beach coverup. So baby C has been sweating so much lately. Rightfully so, because it has been hot over here. I came across this portable stroller fan and I can’t wait until it arrives. It has a flexible tri-pod that allows you to bend and shape it to what you need it to fit on.
I hope everyone stays cool, has a great weekend, and a great holiday week ahead!
