It’s hard to believe Christmas is around the corner and the year is drawing to a close. As hectic as this time of year can be, it’s also a great time to try and slow down and reflect on things.
For us, this season will always be about celebrating the birth of our savior. We enjoy taking in all of the holiday fun and sharing in special moments with each other, but that could all go away. The most important part will always be the gift of eternal life through Jesus.
If I can instill any values in my boys, my hope is that they always put God first and try their best to be an extension of Him.
Sometimes around this time I find myself second guessing things and I’m left wondering if we did enough. Could we have donated more, helped someone else in need, gone above and beyond in a certain area, and the list goes on. While I try not to beat myself up on the what ifs, I’m trying to focus on the what we did and take note on areas we can always improve on. And not just during the holidays, but all throughout the year.
My hope for all of us is that we can enjoy the gift of each other, focus on our families, being present and find joy in those moments all around us.
From my family to yours, I’m wishing you a wonderful Christmas, holiday season, and Happy New Year!!
