Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! It’s always great to see the weekend and have the work week come to an end. I’m looking forward to my muffins with mom date with my sweet big nugget this morning and his little class. He’s been talking about it all week and it melts my heart that he is so excited for it. 

I’m also looking forward to spoiling my Mom this weekend. She really went above and beyond for me this week when I had to tend to somethings medically. I really don’t know what I would do without her. To kick off Mother’s Day weekend we are headed to a purse bingo fundraiser tonight. I’ve never really been to anything like this, well, except for a tricky tray but I don’t know if they’re similar. I basically think we’ll be playing bingo and if we win, we win a purse. My sister will be coming up tomorrow and we had some fun outdoor things planed but apparently it’s supposed to be pouring here all day. The alternative plan is to all get our nails done and spend sometime at the spa. Not a bad deal at all. Then Sunday we’ll be celebrating at brunch and as long as I don’t have to cook for the day I will be happy. 

Let’s get into some of my favorites from the week, shall we…

1. Bachelorette party round two: if you remember I mentioned a few times that one of my good friends is getting married next weekend. We had her first bacelorette party in NYC and then we had round two last weekend. We spent the afternoon visiting a few wineries and might have made our limo driver stop at McDonalds so we could indulge in some fries. We ended at Lucha Cartel for some Cinco de Mayo celebrating. It was another fun time with some of my favorite girls and my sister also joined us this time.

2. Cinco de Mayo: speaking of Cinco de Mayo, we’ve been going to a restaurant for years to celebrate. They always have a DJ, giveaways, and more importantly really good food and drinks. There’s always been a bit of a wait but nothing too crazy. Well, this year I guess because it was on a Friday it was packed. Eric got there almost an hour before I did to put our name in and get a table. They told him it would be about an hour wait. They actually weren’t letting anymore people in when I got there but I explained to the cop that my husband was in there getting a table for us and he could clearly see I had my hands full with both boys. He let me in no problem. We grabbed some drinks, let the boys dance to the DJ, and figured we would wait it out. Wellll, two hours later and still no food, we threw our hands up and decided Taco Bell it was.

3. Patio furniture: you know you’re adulting when you get excited about new patio furniture. We decided to change some things up in the backyard and had the perfect spot for some new patio furniture. Everywhere we looked things were so expensive. I would have never thought to look at our local grocery store, but sure enough they were running some limited time special with a set that worked perfectly for us so we couldn’t pass it up. Now, if only this weather would cooperate around here so we can sit outside and enjoy it. Side note, our dog totally claimed one of the boys toys as his own and won’t give it up.

4. Little moments: I couldn’t pass up snapping a pic of my big nugget napping on me. You guys, this rarely happens anymore. He is getting so big and before I know it I am going to blink he’ll be 4. I got to enjoy a whole hour of this and ate up every moment of it.

5. Vacation fun: I shared some of our vacation adventures here and here, and don’t worry there will be more to come next week. What can I say, the vacation spam is strong over here.
